9/19 - Luke Zhen is here!

What a great day today! We travelled to the Civil Affairs Bureau at 11am to meet Luke for the first time. He was already there when we arrived. We walked in and saw him in a room which we were asked to come into within a few minutes. They gave us some some bread to get him comfortable with us and it worked for a little while. He did cry when we left and also cried at his medical appointment. Having Julia with us was great because he loves to play with kids and it helped to have her entertain him. Julia had a couple of moments with the transition that were expected but she seems to be better now. We got back to the hotel, ate and took a really long nap. We all needed it.

Right now it seems as though the best toy out of the lot we brought is a ziploc bag to carry the toys in. Andy, Julia and Luke are running around trying to get each other with the plastic bags. Luke has been calling Andy "Ba Ba" for the last hour. Ba Ba is Chinese for Dad. There have been a lot more smiles after his nap and now that we are playing together. I did capture his first smile with Julia when we got back to the hotel and she was feeding him a snack.

Tomorrow's schedule looks like adoption paperwork and some shopping for items for Luke. We're happy he is with us and we can enjoy having him with us for the rest of the trip.
